Pathtrack were delighted to exhibit at the World Seabird Conference (WSC4), held 7th – 11th September in Hobart, Tasmania.
It was fantastic to be part of this event, to connect with biologists and researchers from across the global seabird-tracking community. We were particularly pleased to meet and catch up with so many of our existing customers from around the world. We also had the opportunity to meet with a large number of potential customers, discuss the exciting new projects you have planned and identify how our technology could support your work.
At our exhibition booth we displayed a range of lightweight picoFix loggers, including a variety of the solar and battery configurations we have available. We also displayed multi sensor tags for both loggers and UHF technologies, including our lightest weight GPS tag with pressure sensor and accelerometer, starting at just 1.05g. At this conference we exhibited our new reduced size and weight picoFix® GPS tags with UHF download, now starting at 1.5g for non-solar, and 1.7g with solar. In terms of our latest technological developments that will be available to the market shortly, we showcased our new smaller and lighter 4G LTE-M GPS tags starting at just 3.9g. Additionally, we displayed our magnetometer enabled tags; functionality now available across our logger tags.
Finally, at this conference we presented a highly exciting major development in technology, our leg mount GPS tags. We have been developing this technology for 8 years, hence we are delighted that we now have a product that is able to track a wide range of seabird species in the most challenging of conditions. Our technology has been successfully field tested, including over-winter deployments on a number of different species.
